If you are a cool toned gal like me, the most recent eyeshadow palette releases and successes will not really have been your thing. I love oranges and burgundies, but they do nothing for me. So a fabulous cool toned palette was in my view way overdue. Tarte’s newest Rainforest of the Sea 2 palette is just what I have been waiting and hoping for. It is fabulous!
The tones are great for cool toned looks, you can complete entire looks from the one palette, even though all 8 shades are very fine shimmer and it is very difficult to get it wrong. This makes it a great go to for every day (especially if you are in a rush).
User experience: The packaging is beautiful and functional, it’s a great start when just picking up a palette makes you smile. The shape with the shades arranged in a wheel makes it super easy to pick which colors you want to combine. The formula is very silicony, meaning the shadows just glide on silkily and blend very easily, a huge departure from the clay formula Tarte is known for. Color payoff is good, not so pigmented that you end up clumsily dumping too much on, but very easily buildable. I experienced absolutely no fallout! The sheen is beautiful, no chunky glitter and I did not notice any crepiness being accentuated. With a primer (I used Mac’s Paintpot) I found they stayed on all through the working day with no touch ups, fading at around 7pm.
I am absolutely delighted, being chronically short of time in the morning, this is my go to palette. I Know I will not mess up with this. You could take all others away from me and despite my makeup addiction, I would be ok for a week. 😀
